Heh... yeah "NORTH" drums. Very popular amongst collectors. I was bidding on some on ebay once for the heck of it, but didn't win!

    Where are the octobans!?!?

I've seen them before but they looked too whack for a traditionalist like myself.

    How do they sound, Groove?

they are actauly "staccato" drums, North Drums competition. As far as sound, they have a woody warmth with complex overtones and tremendous sustain . . . just kidding. With those CS black-dot heads and fiberglass shells, they are ALL attack, coming right atcha - and loud. nice and woofy with low fundamental tones!

You can use traditional cases for them....just throw the cases in the oven at 425C for 35 minutes prior to use.

One of my old teachers had one of them, I've never heard louder drums in all my days... Took up a lot of stage room too...

    Some serious attack though...

Oh no, not another political thread!

PS: Looks like Trixon drums to me.

Dr. Funkenstein beat me to it, but these are definitely Staccato drums. North looked like funnels on a ship, and Trixon had a different yet equally odd shape. I think North drums were the coolest of the three. I saw ZZ Top last year and Frank Beard had North drums on top of his Tama kicks.
